“The arroz negro is worth the 35-minute wait and then some. Our server walked us through the vermut list like an old friend. Already planning a return for my mom's birthday.”

Casa Maroma is a coastal Iberian kitchen built around an oak-fired hearth — petiscos to share, whole fish from the morning boats, and a wine list that runs from Galicia to the Algarve.
Our story
Chef Inês Carvalho grew up between her grandmother's tasca in Alfama and the asadores of the Basque coast. When she landed in Bellhaven, the cold-water fish and the old brick sail loft on Larkspur Street felt like home.
Everything here touches the fire: oak and apple wood for the grill, embers for the vegetables, and a slow-dying hearth overnight for tomorrow's bread. Come hungry, order a few things to share, and stay a while.
Every main is cooked over live oak and apple wood — no gas, no shortcuts.
Fish from Bellhaven's morning boats, chalked up on the board by 4 PM.
80+ bottles from Spain and Portugal, plus vermut on tap.

“Gorgeous room, great energy at the bar. The txuleta was cooked perfectly. Only knock is it got loud around 8 on a Saturday — ask for the back booths if you want to talk.”

“Came for a quick bite and stayed three hours. Croquetas, padróns and the cauliflower are non-negotiable. Burnt cheesecake might be the best I've had outside San Sebastián.”
